Vehicles with Operating System 9 and newer requires user to have the vehicle linked to a MINI ID either via the MINI App or MINI Connected portal at mini-connected.ca in order to use the feature(s). The acceptance of terms and conditions is required.
MINI Connected in your car
In the event you accidentally trigger the emergency call in the vehicle, you will be connected to a MINI Assist Call Center agent. For safety reasons, you will be unable to terminate the call. Once the agent is on the line, inform him/her that you accidentally triggered the SOS button. If you do not respond to the agent's questions, he/she will assume that there is an emergency situation and will inform the nearest emergency services unit of an accident.
Yes, MINI recommends that all owners place a manual test emergency call. If you place a test emergency call you will be connected to a MINI Assist Call Center agent. For safety reasons, you will be unable to terminate the call. Once the agent is on the line, inform him/her that you are performing a test call. If you do not respond to the agent's questions, he/she will assume that there is an emergency situation and will inform the nearest emergency services unit of an accident.
Map Update - Automatic Map Update
The time varies depending on your MINI's data connection and signal strength and the amount of new information included in the newest map update.
Up to 4 times per year (quarterly).
This service is automatically activated for you. The Map Updates will also be sent automatically.
Of course, the Navigation System remains fully functional during a Map Update.
Yes, the update process can be interrupted and continued from the previous state at any time.
